1-Q: How do we know what supplements not to take if we are taking drugs for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar?
A: Maximized Living endorses a system of supplementation for healthy living for everyone. However, as with all supplements, if you are taking medication be sure to consult with your physician about possible interactions. Note: very few vitamins and supplements cause adverse events.
2-Q: How do you know which company to trust when it comes to supplements?
A: It is important that the products be pharmaceutical grade, that they do not contain numerous additives, preservatives, or other fillers. Maximized Living takes great care in sourcing ingredients, in the manufacturing process, and in making sure they are pure and effective.
5-Q: Are multi-vitamins a good supplement to take?
A: If a person’s diet is healthy, there is rarely a need for a multi-vitamin. However, with soils depleted of nutrients, and some lack of access to nutrient-rich organic foods, a quality multivitamin can never hurt. However, in this day and age, we feel a Daily Detoxification product is much more necessary and beneficial.
6-Q: What can ladies take whose testosterone levels are low?
A: Increase raw fruits and vegetables. Increase essential fatty acids like avocados, fish, flax seed oil, olive oil, grass fed beef, nuts, seeds, coconut, etc. These fats are key in sex hormone production. Testosterone is actually created from cholesterol (necessary for proper function) and when your diet is deficient in the good fats, the production of testosterone is inhibited. It is also important to exercise regularly (surge training boosts the production of human growth hormone and testosterone).
7-Q: Fast Food restaurants serve some food that is naturally raised, no antibiotics or hormones – but their meats are grain fed, not grass fed. Where does that put the health of the food? What’s the difference?
A: You will often see beef that is labeled “organic”. Unfortunately, this is not the same as “grass fed”. Although you are getting the benefit of the fact that no hormones or antibiotics are used and that the feed is not sprayed with pesticides, it is still GRAIN FED beef. Cows that are fed grains are unable to digest them properly resulting in off balance fatty acid ratios and diminished nutrient value. The key to healthy red meat is to be certain that it is grass fed. In other words, the term “organic” is not synonymous with grass fed. Be very careful.
8-Q: Is it ok to take the whey at every meal.? I heard unless your exercising you should not take it

A: It is a great idea to have both plant and animal sources of Omegas (that is the basis for the ML supplement Pro Omega).

A: You will have to search your local area diligently but www.localharvest.org has listed resources for local organic restaurants, co-ops, farmers markets, etc.
14-Q: What clinical studies are the basis for the Maximized Living Nutrition Plans?
A: In our book, there are approximately eight pages of references and citations supporting the plans. These principles have been the foundations of many health programs through the years … Maximized Living brings it all together in a usable format along with all 5 Essentials.
15-Q: Since most fats are omega 6, and we eat so many of them, why wouldn’t it be ok to take a fish oil that is high omega 3? I understand the reason for 4:1 ratio, but why add omega 6 into the fish oil product if we already have so much of it?
A: Studies have shown that health issues related to EFA depletion respond best to treatment and intake of fats in the proper ratio. Without clinical testing for highly advanced conditions, the best approach for everyone is not to “swing” the balance of fats in the diet, but start right with the proper ratio.
16-Q: Besides cutting out sugar and toxins what are some ways to maximize absorption of vitamins and minerals from out food?

A: call the specific offices in your region to find out when their next makeover is being held!
35-Q: can you overdose on Vitamin D?
A: Most of the reports of Vitamin D toxicity are related to overdoses of Vitamin D2, not Vitamin D3. There are many professionals in medicine and in research who are now re-evaluating past guidelines on this subject. In fact, many of those professionals now recommend short-term high dosages of Vitamin D3 (not D2) to help with common colds, infections, and the flu. The best method to know your necessary dosage would be to get tested. However, if you do not have access to a test, the guideline of 5000 to 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 per day is not considered dangerous, but in fact beneficial.
