Heart rate is one of the best known indicators of general physical fitness. Your target heart rate is the desired heart rate when taking part in excercise of known length and intensity, calculated using the person's age, level of fitness, and any physical limitations such as illness or disease. Target heart rates let you measure your initial fitness level and monitor your progress. This requires measuring your pulse once in a while as you exercise and staying within 50 to 85 percent of your maximum heart rate.
It works for many people, and it's a good way for you and your chiropractor to monitor your progress.
