With Maximized Living – a whole lot of sick people get well. Yet, even better, the well people stay well.
If you look at the 5 Essentials of Maximized Living and study the available research done for each, you’ll find 1000's of studies showing their positive impact on cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, childhood disease, pain, depression, etc. However, unlike the current health care model – it’s not about “treating” disease, It’s about living. It’s about a lifestyle that does not interfere with the body’s physiology, function, or structure –thus allowing the body to produce health. It’s treating health – not treating disease.
Maximized Living is run by Chiropractors. This is necessary as Essential #2 – Maximized Nerve Supply - is a critical component of life. Only trained Doctors of Chiropractic who understand how to correct the spine and as a result, maximize nerve supply, can deliver on this Essential.
A Great Example of the Wrong View is America's Take on Cancer
A report, called Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity and the Prevention of Cancer: A Global Perspective, took five years to complete and was based on more than 7,000 scientific studies. It showed that a substantial amount of cancer could be prevented or reversed based on lifestyle. Yet, much of the public’s view is quite different then this reality.
The study revealed that although a different delivery system could prevent and even cure many cancers, the public viewed cancer much differently:
1. 50% of Americans think that preventing cancer is either impossible or highly unlikely.
2. Only 49% were aware that diets low in fruits and vegetables increase cancer risk.
3. Only 46% cited obesity as a risk factor for cancer.
4. Only 37% knew of alcohol's link to cancer.
5. Only 36% were aware of the link between diets high in processed meat — and cancer.
With Maximized Living “Health Care” recommendations – you do have something to say about your health and your future. So rather then “Treating” or “Curing” cancer and losing – the clear, correct view here is to live right so you DON’T GET CANCER IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Remarkably, the report also showed that there were marked benefits to treating/curing cancer when the sick person adopted the recommended lifestyle principles.
The report discussed a delivery system for cancer that didn't include invasive testing or chemotherapy. Rather, it recommended components of Maximized Living for preventing and dealing with cancer.
Here were the recommendations:
- Be physically active as part of everyday life.
- Limit amount of calorie-dense food you eat (Those high in fat and sugar) and avoid sugary drinks.
- Eat mostly foods of plant origin – fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
- Limit intake of red meat (beef, pork and lamb) and avoid processed meats, such as bacon, sausage, bologna, ham and salami.
- Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages.
- Limit your salt intake.
- Aim to meet your nutritional needs through diet alone. Mothers should breastfeed their babies as it lowers the risk of breast cancer and reduces their child's risk of obesity later in life
- Areas not addressed in this study, but that show a clear impact on immunity and thus the ability to fight cancer in other studies are: Chiropractic care relevant to maintenance of a healthy nervous system and stress management
Many, many other long-term studies on massive sample groups have shown definitively that building health through a properly functioning body and a specific type of lifestyle is really the only way to deliver hope and healing in a sick and suffering world.

The Cost of Getting and Staying Well: Is Insurance the Answer?
“Nobody's safe. Health insurance? That didn't protect 1 million Americans who were financially ruined by illness or medical bills last year.” - Elizabeth Warren, Harvard
It’s clear that our current health care model doesn’t work – people aren’t physically or emotionally well. Oddly, rather then figuring out a model that does work, the focus has been on – “How do we pay for it?”
Now, new Harvard research shows, even if you are insured - insurance doesn’t help you financially either!
A March, 2009 Time Magazine Cover Story was named “So you think you’re insured?” showed the facts –
Harvard studied 1700 bankruptcies. Researchers found that medical problems were behind half of them. The shocking fact was - 75% of these people bankrupted by medicine actually had insurance coverage!!
The author of the study, Elizabeth Warren, made the comment; “Nobody's safe. Health insurance? That didn't protect 1 million Americans who were financially ruined by illness or medical bills last year.”
* Every 30 seconds in the United States, someone files for bankruptcy in the aftermath of a serious health problem. Even in the midst of a housing crisis – more then 25% of them said the reason they can’t pay the mortgage was medical debt. 1.5 million families lose their home to foreclosure each year due to unaffordable medical costs.
There’s no such thing as 100% coverage. If you allow yourself to become ill, the fact is that the uncovered % can cost you everything.
So, the bottom line is – insurance can’t get you well and in the long run, doesn’t save you money.
It might be easier to bear the medical bankruptcy if the return was a cured disease. If you had the choice between keeping all of your money and being sick or dead or giving up your money and being well – the choice is easy. Unfortunately, you spend all of your money and you’re still sick – you’re broke, but still broken.
A Sane, Profitable Solution
The question we should ask isn’t – “Do you take my insurance?”
The questions should be – “Are you the best person to help me and my family be well?” Because - whether you’re uncovered, covered, or partially covered -other then in the case of emergency care - Western medicine has failed as a whole. So what’s the difference how you pay for it?
There are tremendous amounts of scientific, long term studies done on large sample groups that show that there’s a direct correlation between better living (Maximized Living) and preventing pain, illness, disease, and prolonging life. So obviously, if you spent your time, money, and insurance premiums on tools and treatment designed to build your body’s health – you’d not only be well, you’d likely avoid a bankruptcy hearing.
People will often say,
“I don’t have the time to exercise,”
“I don’t have the money for Chiropractic if it’s not ‘covered,’”
or “I can’t make it to one of the Maximized Living classes or events because I’m working or have my kids softball game.”
Yet – ask any child who’s lost a parent to heart disease or cancer or has a grandparent who can no longer play with them because they’re crippled with pain or illness – if they’d rather have them around and well or have them never miss a single ball game or day of work?
AND – skipping care you need now in order to save a few thousand dollars can equal medical bankruptcy or literally 10s or even 100s of thousands (or even millions) of dollars later.
Any financial expert will tell you – the reason for the current financial crisis is ultimately shortsightedness on behalf of the people. To skimp on your health care now because money is tight and then end up being unable to work or function and with tens of thousands of dollars in medical expenses later is exactly the kind of thinking that leads you to economic ruin.
It’s simple math, investing in wellness now pays dividends tomorrow.
Costs of a Maximized Living Care Plan
We realize we’re biased, but can you think of a better investment than Chiropractic and the other 4 Essentials of Maximized Living? If people spent more of their resources on their lifestyle rather than on their insurance, it sure stands to reason the vast majority of the time – that you would have a tremendous return on that investment. Rather than medical bankruptcy, you’d bank those medical costs. Even if the cost of Maximized Living seems like a stretch – the fact that you’d enjoy the fruits of those expenses is obvious.
While medical expenses, covered or not, cost upwards of 10s or even 100s of thousands (or even millions) of dollars– your plan at a Maximized Living office will be a fraction of a fraction of that. While receiving extensive care and guidance in the 5 Essentials is rarely covered by insurance – it’s obviously worth it – and pays off financially in the long run.
Unfortunately, if you’re still stuck in a medical model, which is also an insurance model, you may be disappointed at the minimal or lack of coverage. In fact, insurance companies, medical institutions, and many chiropractors will fight “non-insured care” all the way. The reason for their resistance, however, is clear – less insurance dollars for the doctors and less premiums for the insurance companies.
Maximized Living saves lives, saves dollars, saves insurance costs, and most importantly – affords you a high probability that you actually experience health.
